crocodile dundee (1986)

this dumb romcom about a fish out of water australian glorifies violence and has a very reactionary outlook on modernity, but for all its “can’t make em like this anymore” boorishness it’s really funny and charming.

Both the sci-fi elements and the scientist characters are really fun and involving in this carl sagan book adaptation - but on the other hand the love interest is really annoying and the movie should’ve been 30 minutes shorter.
