Civil War (2024)

It’s cool that this ever got made, considering how infrequently we see a big budget movie this different and bold - so while it is disturbingly violent, with bafflingly bad music choices, and even tho the themes (growing up, journalism) have little to do with the ostensible plot (american civil war), I have to applaud the acting, the visuals, the vision, and the spectacle.

Both the sci-fi elements and the scientist characters are really fun and involving in this carl sagan book adaptation - but on the other hand the love interest is really annoying and the movie should’ve been 30 minutes shorter.

the gentlemen (2019)

While this Guy Ritchie movie doesn’t live up to its forebears (in my humble opinion) in terms of snappy dialogue and humor, it was certainly funny at times, and the twists were nice and exciting, and colin farrell’s character was a classic.
