the constant gardener (2005)

For some reason they tried to make a movie out of a very good, extremely complex political thriller novel, and while the book is better plotted, more interesting, and more coherent, the movie does great at cultivating an increasing sense of drama and paranoia as it progresses, and it is a very affecting ride.

Both the sci-fi elements and the scientist characters are really fun and involving in this carl sagan book adaptation - but on the other hand the love interest is really annoying and the movie should’ve been 30 minutes shorter.

the gentlemen (2019)

While this Guy Ritchie movie doesn’t live up to its forebears (in my humble opinion) in terms of snappy dialogue and humor, it was certainly funny at times, and the twists were nice and exciting, and colin farrell’s character was a classic.
